The commercial vehicle industry has a new, more cost effective periodic inspection program available today. Built by and specifically for your industry, this program is called the CheckMark Periodic Inspection Program (PIP) and is designed to meet three of your critically important objectives: lower cost of business; increase vehicle availability; and improve safety performance.
PIP is a voluntary, comprehensive, rigorous inspection that exceeds all Part 396.17 and Appendix G requirements. The PIP has three core elements:
- inspector training and certification
- comprehensive standards and criteria
- uniform inspection procedures.
CheckMark recognizes the success of a highly trained inspection only work force depends on continuous quality oversight and information management. That is why the PIP also has:
- Information management technology for end-to-end data integrity
- Ongoing quality assurance oversight of the inspection procedures
- Continuous quality control metrics based on inspection data analysis
The commercial vehicles who pass a PIP inspection receive a CVSA sanctioned PIP Decal. CheckMark has the exclusive rights to provide these decals as part of its agreement with the CVSA.
